Weekend Explorer - Travel's Best Secrets

A first of it's kind eco-tourism adventure series focusing on culture, history, and wildlife.

Since its first national airing in 2001, “Weekend Explorer” has always been a ratings star!

When launched, travel TV was either boring bus tours or extreme expeditions. From its first broadcast, “Weekend Explorer” was the highest rated non-primetime series on KPBS in its weakest timeslot. This propelled “Weekend Explorer” to air nationally on PBS and on commercial broadcasters worldwide. The series continues to receive excellent ratings.

“Weekend Explorer” has two EMMY Awards for “Host” Jeffrey Lehmann and  “Educational Program” as well as dozens of other awards.

Maritime Silk Road - Birth of the global Economy

Tracing the world's first international trade routes and their affect on today's world.

The “Maritime Silk Road” challenges the traditional teaching of history.

Many aspects of this series were considered controversial when first aired. Many of these have subsequently been proven to be correct by recent archeological finds. It was also the first series outside China to film the oldest intact shipwreck in the world, the Nanhai 1.

Awarded “Best Documentary Series of the Year” by the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival. The series received Telly Awards in writing, education, and culture.
